Strange disease kills thousands of fish in Taraba

While Nigeria and the world at large are struggling to contain the epidemic of Lassa Fever outbreak and the dreaded CoronaVirus, a strange disease is currently killing fish in their thousands in Taraba State.

Sources in Ibi local government area of the Taraba where the bubonic plague is is currently pulverising fish population, said, there is serious concern among the people considering recent outbreak of Lassa Fever and coronaVirus which are causing serious havoc around the worlf.

Majority of the people of the ancient town who are predominantly fishermen said the strange disease presents a serious cause for concern.

Confirming the outbreak of the disease, Chairman caretaker committee of Ibi, Bala Bako said he recieved report of the strange disease.

He disclosed that thousands of fish have been killed as a result of the strange disease.

The Chief of Ibi, Abubakar Salihu Danbawuro while confirming the sad development said, on hearing about the incident he and the Chairman of the local government have quickly reported the issue to the state government for urgent action.

According to him, the state government had immediately sent a delegation from the state Ministry of Agriculture to find out the cause of the disease.

When contacted for comment on the matter, Chairman fish sallers, Ibi LG, Danlami Sale said this is the first time such a trial is happening, calling on the state government to wade into the matter as many of them have lost their customers because of the disease.
