The people of Adamawa South senatorial zone where ushered into the new year with joy as the senator representing the area, Binos Dauda Yaroe empowered no fewer than 150 youth and women and equipped them with starter packs and cash.
Speaking at the first tranche of the empowerment in Mayo/Balwa on Friday, Yareo said that the beneficiaries were earlier trained on various skills across the nine Local Governments in the constituency.
“We trained them on entrepreneurship and leadership to enable them do businesses they want to do and it was successful.
“These Items will enable them start a successful business, be self-employed and employers of labour,” the senator said.
Items donated to the beneficiaries include; sewing machines, grinding machines, water pump, sprayers, rain boots, cutlasses.
The senator also made available the sum N1.05 million to be shared to 21 persons who intended to go into saloon business, poultry, fig and fish farming.
He called on the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items to help themselves and others.
Peace Abubakar, a beneficiary of Sewing machine, expressed gratitude for the gesture and assured to make use of it judiciously.
Wosiganso Blus, another beneficiary and a farmer, thanked the lawmaker and expressed hope to boost his production for this year’s irrigation farming unlike the previous years.
