Adamawa State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has endorsed the ambitions of Ladi Patrick who is vying for the position of President of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) and Villian Murray who is gunning for the position of the Secretary of Zone E of the union.
The state chapter took the decision to support the dou who are indigenes of the state during its congress on Saturday.
The state NUJ chairman, Ishaka Dedan who presided over the congress at the Press Centre Yola, acknowledged the immense contributions made by the duo to the profession noting that the state chapter is fully behind their candidature.
Similarly, the state NAWOJ chairperson, Hajia Zainab Abubakar who poured encomiums on the duo said NAWOJ will duly mobilise support for them to ensure victory at the polls.
In another vein, Dedan has disclosed that the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in Adamawa State has donated a bus to the state chapter of NUJ and also promised to sink a borehole at the Press Centre.
He said the decision to request for the items came after the NUJ cancelled its plan to do a tour of the 21 local government areas of the state.
He also announced that the NUJ had gone far in its efforts to get a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) for the Press Centre to effectively take ownership of the property for which no C of O was given.
