Member Shelleng constituency, Abubakar Isa empowers 1,000 constituents



The member representing Shelleng constituency in Adamawa State house of assembly, Hon. Abubakar Isa (Marafan Shelleng), has reassured his people his unflinching determination to provide democracy dividends them.

The lawmaker gave the assurance Friday at government lodge Shelleng while presenting motorcycles, sewing machines, grinding machines and multi million naira cash assistance for onward distribution to over 1,000 beneficiaries across the 10 political wards in the constituency.

According to him, the empowerment programme was a reciprocation of the love showed to him by the people, promising to continue to justify the confidence reposed in him.

He assured the people of his commitment to avail them with democracy dividends for voting him to represent them for the second time.

Speaking on his ongoing rehabilitation of Shelleng water board which is at 90 percent completion stage, the lawmaker said he personally initiated the project for which he injected about N3 million before directing the ministry of water resources to take over the work adding that so far, about N20 million has been injected into the project.

The lawmaker told the gathering that he is working tirelessly with the officials of the ministry and the contractor handling the project to ensure that they connect all parts of Shelleng metropolis with tap water and extend same to neighboring communities.

Abubakar Isa, appreciated Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for approving N40 million constituency project fund to all the 25 lawmakers in the state, and pledged his support to the government of the day for more people oriented programmes.

While appreciating the people of the area for their support and understanding, Isa said, the programme is a tip of the iceberg promising to continue to reach out to the electorate with more basic amenities.

Speaking during the distribution of the empowerment items to a cross section of the beneficiaries, the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt.Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, applauded the lawmaker for putting smile on the faces of his electorate through the 2020 constituency project.

The Speaker who was represented by the Deputy Speaker, of the House Hon. Pwamwakeno Mackondo (Numan constituency), said the people of Shelleng have made the right decision in reelecting their member who has their love in his heart.

He told them that the legislator has clearly demonstrated that he is a good leader. He therefore pleaded with them to exercise patience and support the lawmaker to enable him continue providing dividend of democracy to his people.

In her address, the head of Adamawa State Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency PAWECA, Hajiya Aisha Bawa Bello who was represented by the Director Monitoring and Evaluation of the Agency commended the lawmaker for considering Empowerment Programme as part of his 2020 constituency project.

Also speaking the acting state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal who was represented by the state deputy chairman, Mr Samaila Tadawus said the lawmaker has proved to his people that they have voted for a right man who put their interest above his own personal interest.

In his welcome address, the Acting Chairman All Progressives Congress APC Shelleng Local Government Area, Mr. Christopher Kadiri, said the empowerment programme is not the first time as the legislator is reaching out to his electorate, saying that the member was reelected for second term due to his track record.

In their goodwill messages, Mr. Mumini Dickson and Shehu Dangote commended the legislator and pledged to continue supporting him to enable him succeed.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, the APC Chairman, Shelleng ward, Malam Habu Mai Anguwa, thanked the lawmaker for the gesture promising that they will used the items for the purpose intended.

Some of the items distributed by Hon. Marafa Shelleng include motorcycles, sewing machines, grinding machines and cash support to beneficiaries across Bakta, Gundo, Libo, Bodei, Talum, Gwabogolok, Jubbul, Katambare and Kiri wards.
