To ensure food security in the aftermath of the inadequate rainfall and low yield of farm produce, Adamawa State government has concretized plans to assist no fewer than 10,000 dry season farmers.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri made the statement in Yola when he received a delegation of youth leaders of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who paid him a solidarity visit at the government house Yola, over the weekend.
Fintiri mandated the relevant ministries to provide land for the take off of the initiative at the local government levels urging them to ensure that youths are adequately supported with equipments, tools and the technical knowledge to successfully venture into the business of agriculture.
He urged the youth leaders to sensitise their followers on the need for peaceful coexistence and embrace government empowerment programmes meant for their development.
Earlier in his remark, spokesman of the group, Abdurrahman Musa, who is the youth leader for Yola North Local Government Area commiserated with Fintiri on the recent uprising.
He lauded the governor for fulfilling all his campaign promises to the people of the state and pledged to support the administration.
