The style and quality of the leadership style of His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, is a rare gem out of the names ever written as number one citizens of Bauchi State since its creation 40 years ago.
I am not a historian but a political and social observer who saw the approaches of Bala’s predecessors, Since 1999.
The principles of the leadership style of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed are fascinating and resonated well with what classical exponents of representative democracy documented in multiple volumes.
These kinds of leadership values abound in first and second democracies. They don’t receive much mention in third democracies until the emergence of Governor Bala Abdulkadir as Governor of Bauchi State.
Bauchi Governor listens. His ears are annexed to the microphones of his people. This he does with all sense of humility and responsibility to the ideals and zeal of the over five million population of the state.
From May 2019 to date, Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has convened nothing short of five Parleys with all that matters including the common persons on the street. Disabled even.
Only good leaders who feel for their people like Governor Bala Abdulkadir mingle with the people to find out their problems and respond appropriately. In short, His Excellency Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed does not operate on the dejected value of ‘felt needs.’ He listens to his people. He asks them about their choices. He defends their bias.
Proud is not in the dictionary of Governor Bala Abdulkadir, who I branded in most of my exposes as ‘Chief Servant of Bauchi State.’ He doesn’t spend resources on megalomaniac desires without recourse to the tastes of his people.
He has no air fleet nor cars. In fact, Governor Bala Abdulkadir does use Costa bus to shuttle without feeling above the roof of the bus carrying him.
Recently, I saw a social media post where it argues that the Bauchi Governor uses clothes costing nothing more than 3,000 per yards and a cap of about 6,000. Kaura must be a Messiah!
Posterity will not forgive history annals provided they don’t chronicle the values and believes of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed for the unborn generations to tape and apply to their situations.
The just-concluded project inspection tour of the state by Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed is both an opportunity to supervise awarded contracts and hear from the horse’s mouth.
He has achieved his targets in style. Kamal sent in the piece from Bauchi
