The federal ministry of women affairs has disassociated itself from a purported conference being organized by “Excellent Women International.”

A statement signed by the Hon. Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen urged members of the general public to disregard the fictitious conference noting that the federal ministry of women affairs has no slightest knowledge of the event let alone endorse it

” The attention of the Hon. Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen has been drawn to a letter of invitation calling on women to attend the 17th Annual International Conference and the endorsement into the Nigerian Quintessential Women Award and press briefing slated for 30th and 31st July, 2020 at the Bayelsa State guest house, Abuja by 2:00pm.

” The letter of invitation dated 20th July, 2020 from Excellent Women International claims to be in collaboration with the federal ministry of women and social development.

” The minister wishes to inform the general public most especially Nigerian women that the federal ministry of women affairs is not collaborating or supporting or sponsoring the 17th annual international conference or any such conference or whatever.

” The minister ceases the opportunity to inform the general public that the name of the ministry is federal ministry of women affairs and not federal ministry of women affairs and social development as stated by the Excellent Women International.

” The public is therefore advised to note the forgoing and that the federal ministry of women affairs disassociates itself from the purported conference.

” No institution, organization or person should use the ministry’s name or claim to conduct any activity in collaboration with the ministry without authorization please,” the statement noted.
