An aide of former Governor Boni Haruna, Salihu Yahaya has been docked by an upper area court III Yola presided by justice Umar Isa for allegedly using vain expletives on his estranged wife.
Yahaya who served as the Chief Protocol to the ex-governor, allegedly called his former wife, Maryam Taba, an adulterer sparking the legal tussle.
Tabah told the court that she married the defendant about 19 years ago and was divorced on 4th January 2021.
She stated that the defendant had told her friends that he divorced her for committing adultery and going out with one young boy by name Adamu Buba Bazza.
According to her, the said Bazza, had been coming to their house for several years before her divorce, and that the same boy assisted her through his brother who is a medical doctor when her husband, fell ill. She then prayed the court to charge her estranged husband for defamation.
However, the defendant pleaded not guilty making the complainant to pray the court to give her date to present her witnesses.
The judge however adjourned the matter to 4th March, 2021 for hearing.
