The minister of youth and women affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen has urged women and youth to participate massively in the coming All Progressives Congress (APC), registration and revalidation exercise.
The minister noted that youth and women constitute about 51 percent of Nigeria’s population calling on them not to fiddle with such powers by refusing to participate in the process.
” Politics is a game of numbers. Statistics has shown that about 51% of our population is made up of both female and youth. This goes to say that we, women and youth, have the voting power to decide who should be our leader.
” The president and leader of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), President Muhammadu Buhari, has flagged-off the registration of members in preparation for the party’s national convention.
” Party registration is key for political participation. It is only when we register that we could aspire for elective positions, be they general or for election into party positions.
” It is in the light of this that I make this clarion call on all women and youth, from the ages of 18 years and above, to make haste and register as members of the largest party in black Africa, the APC.
” Globally, we have seen instances where power shifted to women and youth.
Women and Youth in Nigeria also clamour for similar power shift. This will not be possible if we do not use this opportunity to register as party members.
” Women and Youth, please ensure that you actively participate. Register and ensure that more women and youth in your constituency register too. Don’t miss this golden opportunity!
Hurry and register now! Remember, your Party registration card opens all doors to political patronage,” the minister said.
