Adamawa police nab two suspects in connection to journalist’s murder




Adamawa state Police Commissioner, Mr.Audu Adamu Madaki has disclosed the arrest of two suspects in connection to the gruesome murder of a Journalist in the state last week.

Mr. Madaki made the disclosure in Yola Monday while receiving the National President of Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), Chief Chris Isiguzo and his entourage on courtesy call stressing that his detectives are working round the clock to ensure that the culprits are not only arrested but duly prosecuted.

Madaki after condoling the leadership of the Union and the family of the deceased journalist maintained that the police will soon parade those involved in the heinous act.

The commissioner stated that journalism profession and security operatives are partners in progress and need to synergize in the interest of peaceful coexistence.

Earlier, in his address, the National President of the NUJ, Christ Isiguzo commended the Police for the arrest and urged them to do more so that justice can be given to late Nashion Maxwell.

Isiguzo said his team is touring all the 37 councils of the union with a view to meet members and mitigate to design solutions to the challenges facing the profession.

“We have confidence in the Nigeria Police Force as it remain the best in Africa with outstanding performance accepted globally.

“We are using this forum to call for cordial relationship with our members in the state because the central objective of the two professions is of building a peaceful and society where rule of law is maintained “.christ stated.

It could be recalled that late Maxwell,a staff with Federal Radio Cooperation of Nigeria,FRCN ,Fombina FM Yola was last week abducted and murdered by unknown assailants for reasons best known to them.
