Adamawa police confirm release of abducted district head

Adamawa State police command has confirmed the release of the district head of Mayo Farang and Sarkin Noman Adamawa, Ardo Mustapha Ardo Ahmadu.

The monarch was abducted on Monday at his palace in Mayo Farang, in Mayo Belwa local government of Adamawa State around midnight.

Confirming the release of the monarch, the image maker of the state police command, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje said investigation to arrest the culprits is still on.

This medium cannot established whether ransom was paid or not before the monarch was released.

But a source close to the monarch told our reporter on phone that the traditional was hale and hearty.

The monarch was abducted few hours after the new commissioner of police Aliyu Adamu Alhaji resumed duty in the state.

During his maiden press conference, the commissioner has read riot act to the men of the underworld promising to crush crime and criminality in the state.
