Adamawa police command denies reported invasion of court

Adamawa State police command has repudiated an online news report purporting that it invaded, a high court, assaulted lawyers, brutalized suspects and damage vehicles.

A statement by DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, the public relations officer of the command said, “the attention of Adamawa state police command has been drawn to a publication “Police invade Adamawa high court, assault lawyers,brutalize suspects ,damage vehicle”.

” As a matter of fact, on 16/11/2020 police detectives attached to criminal investigation department (CID) received information on the where about of suspects that are on police wanted list over a case that is under investigation.

” The police acted within the context of the law with high level of professionalism and effect their arrest at the gate of the high court while on their way out of the court premises.

” The two suspects apprehended were connected with cases of culpable homicide and resisted arrest, turn down several police invitations.

” The police in Adamawa are friendly serving officers with much respect to court and lawyers as such can not in any way assault our partners in enforcing the laws.

” The commissioner of police Olugbenga Adeyanju, commended Journalists for services they do render, equally advise them to always verify their reports before making it public.”
