Adamawa PDP lauds ADSIEC over successful conduct of LG by-election

The Adamawa state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed lauded the state electoral commission (ADSIEC) over the successful conduct of councillorship elections in three local governments in the state.

The state electoral commission has last Saturday conductor councillorship polls in Guyuk, Lamurde and Shelleng to fill the void created by the death of three councillors.

Organising Secretary of the party, Alhaji Hamza Madagali made the position during an interview with newsmen in Yola.

Madagali said the laudable achievements recorded by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration across the state was an added advantage to the party’s councillorship candidates in Guyuk and Shelleng councils to emerged winners in the contest.

Recalls that the demise of three councillors of Kiri ward in Shelleng council, Guyuk ward in Guyuk council and Lamurde ward in Lamurde local government council informed the bye election in to their vacant seats which PDP clinched two ward while APC won one seat accordingly.

Madagali who expressed surprise over their party’s candidate lost in Lamurde ward noted that the party will do a post mortem examination to find out why they lost the seat for more strategy to avoid reoccurrence.

He ascribed the victory of an apposition candidate in Lamurde ward to lack of interference from the Governor Fintiri’s government which promotes equity and fairness in democracy.

On the assessment of Fintiri’s administration in the state, Madagali said he is scoring the administration 80% in terms of performance in security, education, h9ealth and roads construction.

“Governor Fintiri’s administration is performing remarkably as most of his campaign promises are being fulfilled by the day in less than two years of the tenure’s life span.

“Under Fintiri’s administration,there is improved security situation,Education sector is receiving serious attention on rehabilitation and construction of buildings,payment of WAEC/NECO exams fees as well as health sector”.Madagali mentioned.
