Adamawa State Muslim Council in conjunction with Muslims Corpers Association of Nigeria (MCAN), Adamawa State chapter have flagged off extramural classes for SSS III exit students to enhance their success during the exit examinations.

Chairman of the occasion Mr. Usman Ahmed Dada who expressed appreciation over the development, lauded the wisdom of the organizers for their wonderful vision noting that it will go a long way in helping the students to pass their examinations.

He expressed optimism that the move will lead to unprecedented successes in the examinations noting that with the move he is confident that the success will improve by 500 percent as he noted that coaching classes yield better results than regular classes because of their interactive nature and the fact that the teachers easily understand the weaknesses of individual students.

Dada urged the student to pay serious attention to their studies noting that the rate of failure by Muslim students was alarming and embarrassing urging parents to ensure that the students make optimal use of the rare opportunity.

While delivering his key address, the guest speaker, Alhaji Saidu Komsiri who is the special adviser to Adamawa State governor on basic education urged the students to make optimal use of the opportunities to pass their examination.

But he however urged the students to identify their potentials and work towards realizing them.

He commended the organizers for such a wonderful idea calling on other schools to emulate it because of its importance to the society.

Komsiri who applauded the move said it could not have come at a better time when the coronavirus pandemic has left the education sector comatose noting that the extramural classes will bridge the inherent gaps that the COVID-19 has wrought on the education sector.

Also speaking, the chairman Adamawa State Muslim Council, Malam Gambo Jika noted that in order to address the embarrassing failure of examination, the council identified and sets up a committee consisting of technocrats to address the lingering challenge.

He noted that it is unfortunate that Muslims are always the back sitters in the scheme of things and mostly associated with crimes as a result of their backwardness noting that it was unfortunate that most of the youths languishing in jails and drugs rehabilitation centers are Muslims.

Jika urged the students to emulate pioneering scientists who are predominantly Muslims and stop playing to the gallery adding that the prophet will not be happy to associate with people with such glaring backwardness noting that the desire to address the malaise informed the basis of floating the extramural classes with the aim of enhancing the quality of young students.

In his goodwill message, the chairman of the Adamawa chapter of MCAN Malam Abdulrahman Marafa commended the Muslims Council for supporting the programme which was conceived to enhance the chances of Muslims students at exit examinations.

He noted that in the face of the glaring failure of Muslims during examinations MCAN deemed it fit to evolve measures in regularising the embarrassing situation which culminated in the move to commence the extramural classes.

Marafa noted that the extramural classes will be instituted in all the 21 local governments of Adamawa state adding that 6 centers have been marked for the exercise in the state capital.

He noted that the extramural classes are opened to even non Muslims adding that there are also non Muslims among the teachers that will be part of the extramural classes.
