No fewer that 43 companies on Tuesday bided for contracts of 2021 capital projects in University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH).
The bidding for 13 projects organized by the management of UMTH included that of upgrading the hospital kidney centre, purchase of medical equipments, completion of child and adolescent institute among others.
Speaking at the completion of the bidding exercise, the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee of UMTH, Prof. Mala Sandabe who represented the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. Ahmed Ahijo, lauded the turn out and conduct of the bidding.
He said the technical committee would soon analyse the bids and advice the management of tenders committee for the award of contract.
Some of the contractors who spoke at the occassion, lauded the transparent way the bidding was conducted and urged for sustenance.
Others who witnessed the bidding included representatives of media, Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences (ICPC), and Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
