20-yr-old police impostor arrested in Adamawa

​Adamawa State police command has arrested a 20-year-old resident of Viniklang in Girei Local Government of Adamawa State, Moses James who has been impersonating as policeman since 2020.

A statement by the image maker of Adamawa state police command, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje said, the police recovered eight SIM cards and a pair of police uniform from the impostor.

“On the 23/3/2021, the command’s operatives attached to Girei Division while on surveillance patrol to ensure sanity apprehended one wearing what appears to be police uniform, deceiving members of the public and causing embarrassment to the force.

” The suspect Moses James, 20 years, a resident of Viniklang, Girei Local government area, has been parading himself as a police officer since, December, 2020.

“The commissioner of police Aliyu Adamu Alhaji, psc who talked tough on the impersonators, directed CP’s Monitoring unit, Public Complain Bureau (PCB) and Command X-squad to go after the impersonators and checkmate the activities of extortion, corrupt practices, unprofessional conduct among others.

” The CP further directed that the matter be discreetly investigated and called on members of the public to equally report the unprofessional conduit of men in uniform to the nearest police stations or via these numbers :- 08089671313, 08107364974, 08053872326,” the statement said.

In the same vein, while matching his words with actions, the police boss directs the Deputy Commissioner of Police, to immediately prosecute the suspect and anyone found committing similar offence.
